MUSICAL THEATRE X VIDEO GAMES: This playlist represents the synthesis of Johari's love of musical theatre and video games. In it you will hear three popular themes by Frank Wildhorn, Jeanine Tesori, and Elton John remixed to fit the style of video games such as Street Fighter and Guilty Gear.
The first piece, "The Scarlet Pimpernel", is based on "Into the Fire" from The Scarlet Pimpernel. It was conceived as an upbeat fanfare for Sir Percival Blakeny.
The second piece, "Travel On", is based on "On My Way" from Violet. It serves to illuminate Violet's determination to reach her goals.
The third piece, "The Brave", is based on "Fortune Favors the Brave" from Elton John and Tim Rice's Aida. "The Brave" was meant to capture Radames' brash, yet heroic, nature.
A CABARET OF NEW MUSIC: This playlist contains the music debuted on 20 June 2015 in A Cabaret of New Music. These are all pieces that are either written in the style of musical theatre or are in musicals themselves, including "All We Could Do" from Johari's current project, Caesar. Footage of these performances can be seen on his youtube channel.
